CDF Music Legacy Announces Posthumous Release of Carole Fredericks LIVE!
A 22-Year Journey Brings the Late Singer's Extraordinary Performances to Fans Worldwide
Canandaigua, NY – September 2, 2025 – After more than two decades of dedication, discovery, and restoration, CDF Music Legacy proudly announces the release of Carole Fredericks LIVE!, a limited-edition posthumous album capturing the iconic American-born, France-based singer at the height of her artistry. Released on June 5, 2025, what would have been Carole's 73rd birthday, the album is available on CD, vinyl, and all major digital and streaming platforms.
The project, spearheaded by Carole's sister and overseen entirely by the small, family-run CDF Music Legacy organization, was a labor of love more than twenty-two years in the making.
The recordings, discovered in late 2003 among Carole's belongings, came from her only solo tour—the Couleurs et parfums Tour (1999–2001). Though plagued by technical flaws and low fidelity, the tapes revealed electrifying performances where Carole blended American blues, R&B, and soul with French pop and rock. Surrounded by world-class musicians, Carole's voice soared with power, intimacy, and grace.
"Despite the challenges of the raw recordings, what I heard was astonishing," recalls Carole's sister, Connie Fredericks-Malone who produced the album. "This was Carole at her peak—singing in English and French, moving effortlessly between genres. These tracks could not remain unheard."
With the help of audio engineers Frank Scheidt and later Robert Pickert, the fragile recordings were painstakingly restored and remastered. The final selection of nine tracks includes fan favorites such as Mighty Love, Tender Love, Think, Veille, Sex Machine, Run Away Love, Tu Es La, and Respire as well as her breathtaking rendition of Gershwin's Summertime, featuring pianist Manu Guerrero, then just 19 years old and now a celebrated jazz musician.

The release was celebrated on June 6, 2025 at the Apollo Theatre in Paris, with a tribute concert featuring Debbie Davis, Ann Calvert, and Connie Fredericks-Malone, honoring Carole's life, music, and enduring influence.
Carole Fredericks (1952–2001) is best remembered as a beloved member of the multi-platinum French trio Fredericks Goldman Jones and for her solo career, which showcased her ability to cross cultural and musical boundaries with ease. This live album cements her place as one of the most distinctive voices of her generation—an artist whose music was as fearless as it was soulful.
